MQ-enabled mousetraps and llamas
March 13th, 2006
It turns out that yesterday’s question was answered by eightbar today. Yes, there are more devices that are MQ-enabled.
Their post was about a video posted to ibm.com where you can see MQ-enabled mousetraps and llamas. – I already knew about the power monitoring and oil pipelines, though.
If you know of any other applications, please post them as comments. I’d be very interested in other innovative applications, especially if they’re already used in production.

Hi,
Yeah we have a whole lab full of MQ connected devices. We should probably blog about some more of them over time. The lab was set up to demonstrate MQ and pervasive messaging, so we try to connect as much as possible to our broker. A few other things we have connected: a clock, an LED display, TV, lamp, fan, thermometer, blinds, weighing scale, height measurer, petrol pump, ambient sign, rfid readers. I’m sure I’ve missed lots more too…
